JNU Entrance Exam Details

The Jawaharlal Nehru University constituted under the Jawaharlal Nehru University Act 1966, (53 of 1966) came into existence in 1969. The basic academic units of the University are not single discipline departments but multi-disciplinary Schools of Studies.

JNU offers M. Sc. Programmes in life-sciences under the School of Life-sciences.

Selection Procedure for Admission: No viva voce examination is held for Msc. programme.

The candidates are admitted on merit on the basis of their performance in the Computer Based Test (CBT) and the deprivation points added to their score in accordance with the approved admission Policy and Procedures of the University.

The School of Life Sciences (SLS) established in the year 1970 and would soon celebrate its Golden Jubilee.

The M. Sc. course lays emphasis on research and offers students the choice of a research career. Our M.Sc. students are encouraged to re-join SLS through due admission procedure to pursue their doctoral studies, or seek admission in other institutions in India/abroad.
