IIT JAM Economics Syllabus 2027

Digamabar Jagtap
Author | Updated On Oct 25, 2026

The IIT JAM Economics syllabus helps candidates understand the topics covered in the entrance examination and prepare a structured study plan. Candidates planning to pursue postgraduate programmes through IIT JAM should review the official syllabus, understand the exam pattern, and practise previous year question papers to improve their preparation.

Important clarification: IIT JAM does not currently offer Economics as a separate test paper. Candidates interested in Economics should check the admission requirements of their preferred postgraduate programme and the relevant JAM paper accepted by the admitting institute. Do not confuse Economics with the IIT JAM Economics syllabus unless an official notification introduces a separate paper.

The official IIT JAM 2027 syllabus includes five major sections: Mathematics for Economics, Statistics for Economics, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, and Indian Economy.
