BARC PHYSICAL SCIENCE Entrance Exam Details

BARC releases the notification on 12th July 2021, Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) invites application through online mode for recruitment of Trainee Scientific Officer (TSO) for the 2021-2022 academic session of BARC Training School through their separate Online Examination (BARC Exam 2021) or GATE 2020/2021 score for Engineering and Science stream.

After selection in BARC they usually offer these courses from which they select the student for respective courses according to his/her interview went through. Generally the extra meritorious students ( IIT's scholars are also preferred ) are selected for DGFS programme and others are allowed to attend the OCES programme. Understand it in this way, OCES is like a graduation degree and DGFS is like PG degree just for the understanding purpose.


BARC Exam Eligibility criteria

Candidates should possess M.Sc in Physics/Applied Physics with Physics or Maths at B.Sc or at subsidiary/ancillary level in case of 5-year Integrated M.Sc or B.E./B.Tech in Engineering Physics with a minimum of 60% aggregate in the qualifying degree.

M.Sc candidates (other than those applying with a 5-year M.Sc Degree) must additionally have an aggregate of 60% minimum in B.Sc. Physics PG candidates who opted to be evaluated on the basis of GATE score need to have a valid GATE 2021 or GATE 2020 score in Physics. Applicants possessing B.E./B.Tech degree in Engineering Physics can apply with GATE with a valid GATE 2021 or GATE 2020 score.
