IFAS TEACHING METHODOLOGY

A. REGULAR CLASSES

Total Lectures / Week: 10 to 18.

Total Lectures / Week / Subject (Physics, Chemistry & Biology each): 4 to 6

Each lecture duration = 90 Minutes (01 Hr 30 Min.)

The 90 Minutes of each lecture is divided as follows: First 30 Min for Routine Practice Problem (RPP) and Discussion; last 1hr is devoted for theoretical and conceptual learning.

RPP and Discussion comprises of Home Work that is assigned in the form of Routine Practice Problems (RPPs).

Theoretical learning consist of Theory comprising - important concepts, formulae with solved/ unsolved examples

The Discussion part is mainly of interactive type and students are motivated to discuss their doubts to understand the concepts/fundamentals used in problem solving.

Well designed modules according to NEET pattern and syllabus are given to students and during regular classes every student is allowed to compile running notes. Thus a complete set of effective study material is made available to the aspirants.

IFAS provides excellent infrastructure & facilities to facilitate an ideal ambience for effective learning.

Students are made to sit in the classroom in rotation in order to maintain healthy environment of competition.

Back up Classes are planned and arranged for specific students of various courses according to their performance to improve the performance level of such students.

Motivation Classes are conducted to ease the stress and pressure from the mind of students.

B. Routine Practice Problems (RPPs)

Routine Practice Problems are a set of Problems assigned to the student as a part of the Home Work.

Typically a RPP contains 5 -10 Problems (on an average 07 Problems). It includes problems based on NEET pattern.

The Discussion of problems of RPP is done in the next lecture. It boosts the morale of the student by doing sufficient practice of the theory taught in the classroom by practicing/solving the problems himself based upon that in the succeeding lectures.

RPP gradually helps in developing a habit and practice of revision of the syllabus. The problems of RPPs can be marked/highlighted at the time of attempting so that they can work as an additional Question Bank and help in better revision before the NEET Exam.

C. Discussion Classes

The Objective of Discussion Classes is to provide support to those students who are not able to understand a concept at first clearly which is now affecting their performance. This usually happens with students who are weak in basic concepts. So discussion classes help those students to start building the basic concepts all over again. This class works as a golden opportunity for them to raise their bar.

In fact Doubt Discussion Class is a One to One Discussion Forum between the student and the teacher.

The faculty members are available in the specific timings (from morning to evening) at a specific location for Doubt Discussion Classes as per pre-announced schedule.

Doubt Discussion Class encourages the students to clarify their doubts immediately without affecting the final performance by ensuring firm grasp on the concepts/fundamentals of the subject.

Sometimes Doubt Discussion Classes become a good platform to recover the lost syllabus for those students who couldn't take admission at the time of beginning of the course and have got delayed due to some reason(s).

D. Cycle Tests (PATs)

The objective of Cycle Tests is continuous assessment of the level of preparedness of student (own/comparative) and compelling him to study, practice and perform according to the requirements of NEET.

The Cycle Tests are conducted every Sunday.

The pattern of Cycle Tests is as per NEET i.e. Papers comprising of objective questions of all the three subjects viz. Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

The student is provided with Answer Key & Solutions of the Test Paper after the Test.

Each Test Paper is discussed in the succeeding lectures after the test.

The quantity of Cycle Tests is sufficient to remove the examination fear amongst the students.

) The meritorious students performing consistently during cycle tests are encouraged by facilitating their hard work via. Prize Distribution Ceremony.

The result of the Cycle Tests is shared with the parents via. SMS and e-mail.

Parent Teachers Meet is organised every month in order to share candidates performance and it works actually as a counselling session also to keep candidate motivated and positive while putting his / her efforts to achieve goal. This meeting session works actually for those candidates who are not able to perform at par. So, during this session each and every bit is discussed in order to raise the bar of performance of that candidate.

E. Study material Research & Development (R&D)

IFAS has its own Study Material Research & Development (R & D) Division.

The R & D Team continuously strives to reform and upgrade the Study Material to maintain equilibrium with the dynamism of NEET exclusively.

The R & D Team regularly develops the work of Question Bank Development (Original/Assorted).

The R & D Division is involved in research and enhancing the Study Material (RPPs) preparation of Periodic Test Papers, their validation and preparation of Answer Key, Hints & Solutions for the students as per need.

The R & D Team make every effort in compiling and framing the wide variety of problems according to the latest pattern of NEET for adequate and wholesome practice of the students.

F. Administration and Management

The Academic Calendar for the whole session is systematically planned for course at the beginning of the session itself.

The Academic Management Team is supported by a Non-academic Management Team in running the Academic Management System effectively and efficiently.

A regular Syllabus Progress Monitoring Report is compiled and analysed on weekly basis for all the courses to ensure syllabus execution as per academic planning.

Regular meetings of Academic Team members are held to review the academic planning & its execution, performance of faculty members, performance of students and to discuss the areas for improvement.
